VALENTINE’S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR HER

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I figured this is the perfect opportunity to share a Valentine’s/Galentine’s Day gift guide. I don’t know about you, but when it comes to presents from loved ones and myself, jewelry is always at the top of my list. Valentine’s Day is also the perfect excuse to buy yourself something you’ve been eyeing. These Monica Vinader pieces are always on my wishlist! I ordered the Nura Cross Over Ring, Fiji Bud Stacking Diamond Ring, Fine Beaded Chain Bracelet, and a Leather Jewelry Box I’ve been eyeing for a while.

VALENTINE’S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR HER

I’ve been collecting Monica Vinader pieces for years. I love how dainty they are, and they even have a ton of options when you want something a little extra, extra. Their Riva collection is one of my favorites. I just feel they do dainty diamond pieces so well. All of their diamond pieces are ethically sourced. If you’re a hoop gal, you need the Riva Large Hoop Earrings (pictured above). They also come in 3 other sizes. You can dress them up or down and I can’t stop wearing them.

Monica Vinader really does sustainability right. They ensure 100% of their diamonds and stones are responsibly sourced by adhering to the Kimberley Process and the World Diamond Council System of Warranties. The pieces arrive in 100% recycled and reusable packaging. Monica Vinader along with all of their suppliers are Responsible Jewelry Council Certified. Slow claps for Monica Vinader!

WHERE TO DRINK/HAPPY HOUR/NIGHT OUT

Bourbon Street

Frenchman Street / we preferred Frenchman over Bourbon btw! Has a bit of an older crowd (think late 20s and up) and feels less like a tourist trap.

Spotted Cat Music Club

Maple Bar Leaf

Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop Bar

The Columns Hotel Restaurant & Bar

The Carousel Bar & Lounge at Hotel Monteleone

Q & C Hotel Bar

THINGS TO DO

Ghost Tour - the ghost tour was definitely one of our favorite parts of the trip. We booked through NOLA Ghostriders and had the best time. Expect the unexpected and try to go later in the day when it’s dark and extra spooky.

Frenchman Street - my personal favorite New Orleans experience. It’s a bit more removed from the touristy areas of Bourbon Street and the French Quarter. Frenchman Street is filled with live music, bars, restaurants art galleries, and nightclubs. A popular local spot!

Bourbon Street - although, this is known as a tourist trap to the locals, it’s still a must-see. We walked down it a couple of times and found ourselves some balconies to throw beads and experience NOLA high up. We did prefer Frenchman Street over Bourbon Street!

WHERE TO STAY

We stayed at Q&C Hotel & Bar. It’s part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection and it was chef’s kiss. We were able to walk to Bourbon Street and many other places and we were just a short Uber/Lyft ride to other hot spots. You can view rooms and book a stay here.
