Yerba Mate Bar & Empanadas I Pacific Beach
One of our favorite spots! Although not a coffee bar, they do offer incredible coffee drinks in addition to their yerba mate drinks. If you think yerba mate won’t give you the same amount of energy as coffee, you’re very wrong. Owned by the sweetest people, this place is a must. They have an outdoor patio so it’s perfect for taking a break from working from home. Their empanadas & sweets are homemade on-site & so delicious. Tell them Sweat in SD sent ya!

Communal Coffee I North Park
This place is real cute and definitely one of North Park’s trendiest coffee shops. You probably have spotted their Coffee + Flowers mural on Instagram and the space is definitely picture-worthy. A ton of space to work outside too!

Better Buzz I Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Point Loma, Encinitas, Hillcrest, La Jolla, Miramar, Escondido
One of San Diego’s favorites. Some may say Better Buzz is famous for its “Best Drink Ever”. With nine locations in San Diego, it really is one of the most popular coffee shops. If sweet drinks aren’t your thing, make sure to ask for unsweetened or less sweet. They also offer a drive-thru at many of their locations which is much needed these days. Their Hillcrest location is huge & perfect for working out of.

Pannikin Coffee & Tea I Encinitas & La Jolla
Located in a cottage in La Jolla and a train station in Encinitas, this place has a very quaint vibe that screams comfort. It doesn’t offer WiFi, so we’re not sure if this is the best option to work from but definitely a must either way! Pannikin in Encinitas is much larger than La Jolla.

Bird Rock Coffee Roasters I La Jolla, Pacific Beach, Little Italy, Torrey Pines, Morena, Carlsbad
A neighborhood favorite that truly has great coffee. And when we say neighborhood favorite, we’re not lying. They have 6 locations in San Diego but you’re able to find their coffee beans at many shops in San Diego. We’ve been told it’s very work-friendly too!

Lofty Coffee I Encinitas, Solana Beach, Little Italy
Another fan favorite. We’ve only been to their Little Italy location, but we’re a fan. Their London Fog is delish if coffee isn’t your thing! there’s a decent amount of outdoor space but it is important to note, no outlets in their Little Italy location. Make sure to visit with your electronics fully charged.

Steady State I Carlsbad
We’ve been told this coffee is incredible and definitely worth the trip if you’re not located in Carlsbad! They have a decent amount of outdoor space so it may even be your perfect WFO (work from outside) spot too.

Cafe Moto I Barrio Logan
Located in Barrio Logan, Cafe Moto’s Cubano Curtado came highly recommended. They also have a fully stocked shop filled with your favorite coffee beans, tea, syrups & more!

If you’re into matcha, this is your spot. They also have lots of gluten free & dairy free pastry options! Their La Jolla location is small but the Little Italy location has a decent amount of indoor & outdoor space to chill or work from.

You know we love a good wallpaper here and The Grounds is covered in wallpaper that screams tropical vibes. The interior is a so cute + they have indoor/outdoor seating so perfect to work from!

This coffee shop is a vibe. Their branding is on point and you may have even seen it on TikTok! Por Vida has some of the most unique drinks. Think Mojito Cold Brew.

A quaint coffee shop located in Little Italy. Their outside space is perfect to work out of or just get some fresh air. We’ve also heard incredible things about their Spiced Honey Latte!
